We met Michelle and Charlie as the sun was going down on an ever-so-hot summer evening in July. This couple is very special to us, as they are officially the first couple that neither Jacqueline nor myself knew either the bride or the groom before this session. Before this historic landmark in our company’s brief history we have had at least a friend-of-a-friend introduction. As we love getting to know our sweet couples, we asked how these two met. Michelle replied, “We walked down the aisle together at a mutual friends’ wedding.” Jacqueline and I stole a look at one another, relaying with our eyes the mutual agreement of this romantic and truly charming introduction.

The idea for the session was to walk around downtown Tallahassee and stop here and there as we went, to capture a unique and contemporary feel for this lovely engagement session. The result is full of color and textures and such unique locations. Of course, this pales in comparison to love and endearment we see between Michelle and Charlie. I love how Charlie makes Michelle smile. In almost every image you can see this sweet smile—not only on her lips, but in her eyes as well.

As we are walking along, Michelle casually states that she may have an idea for a location, one that she had not previously relayed to us. As we waited with anxious ears, she continues, “I work at the capitol and we could use the 22nd floor if you would like.” We tried to contain our excitement, but I still think a squeal might have escaped my lips. We couldn’t believe the amazing views the tippy top of the capitol building held.

Both Michelle and Charlie graduated from FAMU–Florida A&M University. We had talked about including the campus somehow in their images but the locations didn’t fit with the style they had wanted. BUT we love how this turned out. These two high above and their alma mater far below. It could not have been more perfect.

The day was soon approaching it’s spectacular finale as we completed our circle of downtown. We absolutely adore the sweet and lovely Michelle and Charlie. We will be bringing you more amazing pictures soon…as we will be capturing their wedding day as well! Eeepp!
