THE SUNNY SIDE. | FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY | PARKLAND, FL.

We anticipated showers, grey ominous cloudy skies and the high possibility of yet another session rescheduled. When living in Florida and arranging shoots in the spring or summer months the inevitable daily rains with their billowing trees cause even all of your backup plans from proceeding as normal. Preparations for these unexpected interruptions are not easy, however our sunshine state is also notorious for grand and beautiful clearings minutes after storms relocate and for that we are grateful.

The McAuley’s have been the epitome of flexible this year with rainstorms greeting their session dates time and again. While alternative indoor ‘game plans’ were always considered, often times our summer showers generously blanket vast areas in such abysmal darkness that natural ambient light is deficient inside.

All things considered, plus a day of anxious weather report scrutiny, we disregarded the ‘wet’ hearsays and anticipated passing sprinkles with enough time to capture everything this beautiful family desired. For when the clouds brew, equip yourself with shielding umbrellas, travel lightly and pack a mighty positive attitude. And while the grasses were damp, the air moist and the layer of humidity stifling we were greeted with the sunniest of faces!

We have been photographing this lovely family since Colin was a wee babe (here and here), but our charismatic little buddy, now ever more vocal, brought along his baby sister and what an exciting introduction that was for us! During the entirety of our session, little miss C’s sparkling blue eyes intensely focused on examining her surroundings and our strange new faces. There was something so precious about her matter-of-fact personality and boy did she force us to work hard for her smiles!

Our short time spent capturing this wonderful family is always so enjoyable, as their laid-back personalities really allow us to celebrate their bond and sweet moments as a newly composed team of four. Documenting their comfort together really inspires you and then as if with the turn of a switch their perfect, camera-ready smiles just grab you!

Understand that every family’s “perfect photo” is unlike the family before and always uniquely crafted. Rain or shine, our approach may always be similar nevertheless it is the charisma and beaming personalities of our incredible clients that direct how a session will conclude.

This coordinated foursome, proven time and again, has mastered just how to keep on the sunny side of things with their ever brilliant adoration, composure and talent to work our cameras! Clouds may bend, darken and break but you’ll have to walk on by storms because luckily we know the grass is always greener…
