Hello Dear Collective. » intimate. bold. eclectic.

Meet Wriggly, Wriggly Anna Kate.

There is a special window of fourteen days which allows for delectable newborn photography, anything just outside of that framework is like a free pass for baby to be squirmy, squeaky and mobile. Anticipating the arrival of this little one allowed us to gather our magical bag of props and doohickeys for a fresh right-out-of-the-box pink bundle, Anna Kate.

The initial adjustments that come packaged with each newborn of your very own are so full of surprises; consequently, new parents find that they require fine-tuning of their daily routines. Anna Kate had been captured in all of her teeny glory on day thirteen, just shy of our ideal window; so this little babe was anything but sleepy.

As a matter of fact, she was so in tune with our arrival that she hardly found herself able to have some shut eye. Not even the portable heater enticed her droopy lids; thus is the story of our tiny diva who knew exactly what she wanted and would not perform to our demands.:-DTry as hard as we could the cameras were much too exciting, even belly shots had her legs reeling so fast we thought she’d have taken off crawling if we adjusted the pillows just so.

Alas, as if she were well aware of the holiday poem, “Twas the Night before Christmas” Anna Kate nestled snug in her makeshift bed before her first evergreen red and white tree. With nothing more but a soft touch of light from the wide living room window we were able to capture her only peaceful slumber [i.e. nap]. These marked some of the sweetest photos of the day, as she lay gently resting atop her arms with pouty lips and delicate girly bows.

While newborns are amazingly precious bundles, photographing them requires much work. So many elements need to be taken into consideration to allow for these little ones to feel comfortable and undisturbed. We thoroughly enjoyed the pleasure of photographing beautiful Anna Kate, whose dark sapphire irises, wispy flaxen hair and long athletic legs had us swooning, wriggles and all.

Congratulations on your new, bouncing baby girl!
