meet decoy.

Ahh puppies….puppy breath, puppy teeth, puppy fluff, puppy spirit…they are just so cute and scrumptious! Decoy is no different. At 10 weeks, he is learning what the world is like through that adorable puppy curiosity and with a little help from his “big brother” Riley. We took Decoy and his brother down to the lake on a perfectly cloudy afternoon, and while the dogs swam…or tried to swim…I captured the light.

I have always been a lover of the Labrador Retriever. Growing up, I had a yellow gal named Lady (from Lady and the Tramp), and she was the most loyal, well trained, and well loved dog. She ate chocolate a few times and never got sick, would look after my sister and I when we went off to play, and always sat on our front porch guarding the entrance to our home.

 Decoy has a sweet little Lab face, three little freckles on each side of his nose, deep brown eyes, and enormous paws. His personality is pretty laid back for his breed, he sits and observes the action going on around him…with those big paws sticking out from underneath him…before he charges into the situation. He takes lots of pointers from Riley, and although he was a very successful swimmer, the water was a bit too chilly for him and he sat out watching the others play. Once we got home, a nice warm towel was wrapped around his shivering body, as he sat in a swing and was rocked to sleep.
