The day has finally come. After months of planning with your family and future family, soothing over wrinkles, and ironing out the details, the moment has arrived when two lives will become intertwined for a life time. There is much to do on this glorious day but remembering why you are here is the most important aspect. Kandy was such a magnificent bride. If her fears or anxiety were with her that day, we could not tell. She was calmly showing us the important aspects of her bridal ensemble, while making sure we were comfortable and trying to catch up with long ago friends.
As with all family’s, not everyone important in our lives can be here to share in this experience with us, but Kandy made sure her love ones were closest to her, by having them in her bridal bouquet.
After all there is something about a wedding-gown prettier than in any other gown in the world.

Traveling to Miami for the wedding ceremony, and back to Ft. Lauderdale for the reception, there was much time for Kandy and her father to ponder the moments ahead. She remarked to us that as we grew closer so did her nerves grow stronger. Of course exactly what thoughts were running through her head, only previous brides could know.
As we got out of the car and entered the church, many family and friends were gathered and waiting. In a matter of mere minutes we set up and onto the proceedings we went. The spectators settled into the pews and the wedding party got into their places, cue the music and off to the altar she went. It was a traditional Catholic ceremony, so a mass was set to take place as well. With the high ceilings and intimate lighting the place the Guevara’s were wed was truly beautiful.
The reception was to take place at a cozy little restaurant tucked into the corner of downtown called Maxwell Room. Her family had set the decorations beforehand and I cannot describe how amazing of a job they did! The bride and groom entered to cheers and hoorays of those closest to them! Confetti and bubbles encircled them as they made their way from the limo to the restaurant. It was time to party!
After settling in, many surprises were in store for everyone. Toasts were given, belly-dancers appeared, and at the end of the night guests were told to look under their tables for “crazy hour” adornments. Funny hats, whistles, confetti, silly string, over-sized sunglasses…you name it the guests had it. The bridal party and parents had special masquerade masks, made by the oh-so-crafty bride. The craziness had definitely escaped and everyone danced long into the night. It would be in the wee hours of the morning that everyone finally made it back to their hotels. Thank you Kandy and Mike for letting us be such an intricate part of your amazing day! Enjoy all of your memories~
