Chelsea appeared before us tagging along with her Mommy and Daddy as we gazed with adoring eyes. Two petite pigtails draped on each side as her black polka dot sundress swayed with each determined step. At the end of her extended limbs was a pink and grey baby stroller and in its flower embroidered seat was a rosy Hello Kitty; hot pink bow in her hair and rainbow sneakers on her feet.
As her chocolate eyes met ours, she immediately slowed her pace and shortened her strides. Like most three-year-olds Chelsea was shy and wary of our new faces, unsure of our purpose. Despite a quiet, timid demeanor we knew to utilize a super-secret weapon which always seems to have the magic touch on tenacious toddlers.
Mom.
When in doubt you’ll find that Mommy always holds the key to the giggle factory. She who knows her baby best is always our greatest accomplice when working through the kinks of first timers. Comically enough, once we had opened the door precious Chelsea was eager to share her teeth-y grins for the remaining duration of our shoot.
Armed with a beautiful smile she took us on an animated prance towards the nearest playground, an exciting oasis for little beans her age. Chelsea was focused, moving with great sureness that her running legs wouldn’t allow her to miss a beat. My how her tiny limbs scuttled with enthusiastic vigor as she skipped over her daddy’s darkened shadows toward the towering yellow slides. It was evident then that Chelsea was very independent when her shyness was shed; very independent when she was on the move.
Something about those glistening yellow slides kept that magical grin glued to Chelsea’s pretty visage. Perhaps it hadn’t only been the work of playground equipment but also that of her doting parents. Not bashful about playing catchy tunes in the park while dancing with their cutie, these three were a beautiful sight to behold.
No sooner had our session come to an end with Mom and Dad requesting a few last family portraits around the colorful play area. Upon walking our clients back towards their car we watched as little Chelsea was still on the move, back to how she appeared when we first laid eyes on her. Baby stroller packed with Hello Kitty and a large specially placed container of animal crackers, little miss independent continued on her merry way.
Thank you so much Littler family for contacting and giving us the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family.
